On Dec. 29 my sister was suppose to return home from her trip to Detroit, Michigan. We arrived at the airport only to find that her flight had been delayed to what we were told was a late arrival flight. We asked if she would make her connecting flight in Atlanta and was assurred she would so I left her thinking she would be ok.
Well 20 min after I left she was told her flight was delayed again. Her 6:40 flight didn't leave until Almost 7:30 and she only had a 50min lay over. Well you would think that since they were only a few min late they would have held the plane to phoenix for them but they didn't and that was the last flight out for the night. When asked what she was suppose to do for the night they told her she could get a room for 50 dollars even though it wasn't her fault. And she would still have to find a way there and back to the airport. My sister slept in the airport nothing was open they wouldn't even give her something to eat or drink. She stayed in the airport over 12 hours until 2:40pm the next day before she was put on a flight home and still was offered nothing.
When I called that evening to complain I was told that the the flight had been delayed because of weather. When I enformed them that there were no weather problems that day and I wanted to speak to a manager or the owner to make a complaint they told me that they didn't have a number and that they wouldn't accept my complait anyway because it was already put in the computer that the delay was from weather. The weather was clear I checked the airport weather, the weather channel, and the news paper and all the other air lines flights were still taking off and landing. I watched them.
I want every one to know that Delta uses dishonest practices in order not to have to refund or discount their services even when it is their fault. They don't care about their customers.
