My husband received a phone call from VIP Travel Club that offered their travel package and one from Florida Passport. He was told that they would send out the package for us to look over at no obligation and that we had 14 days to look it over. We had 14 days after receiving the package to cancel and keep the travel vouchers.
We received the package on June 3rd, and it said we had to cancel by the 4th in order for our account NOT to be charged. I do not believe that is 14 days! He called the automated # to cancel on the 3rd, and our account was charged on the 6th!
I called their 800# and spoke with Blanco, told him I was extremely upset that they took $149.00 out of my account that I did not have. I told him we did'nt get paid for another week and we had to buy groceries, as we have our 5 year old grandaughter with us. I told him they depleted our account and any checks that came through over the weekend would bounce, causing me overdraft fees. He said they would NOT refund overdraft fees.
I asked him to put the money back in my account today. He said they would mail a check. I told him that was not acceptable as I needed the money before the 7-10 days it would take a check to come. He said that was their policy. They had no trouble debiting my account with a bogus check#, but they couldn't put it back.
I asked him 5 times to speak with a supervisor & he refused. I finally did get a "floor manager" who refused to help either. I really need this money returned and feel I am in for a battle. I am going to my bank Monday to dispute this. My bank said they have seen this company do this many times, and I feel they should be stopped! Some people, like us, live from paycheck to paycheck, raising grandchildren, and can't afford this! I may go to our local news station, also... Sometimes they can help. I am also afraid the VIP Travel Club will debit my account for their $59.00, even though we also cancelled with them, by phone & by mail!
