I am writing about a motel where I was treated worse then I have ever been treated by any business. We were going up to Green River Wyoming for my brother's wedding and made Reservations to the Western inn two months in advance.
We arrived at 2:00 P.M. Expecting our rooms to be ready. Even though check out time was at 11:00A.M. We were told the rooms hadn't even started to be cleaned yet. We had no where to get ready for my brother's wedding rehearsal.
We came back two hours later and were told our rooms were finally ready. My Grandparents room still had someone in it and then the second room they got still needed to be cleaned. There were beer cans all over their room. The bathtub was running and wouldn't shut off. My grandpa barely got it shut off before it overflowed.
The door on the room my Aunt and uncle got wouldn't even close. The beds were as hard as cardboard, the pillows flat and the rooms trashed. The tub in our room was also flowing and wouldn't shut off. We would have left right then but all the other motels in the area were booked and we had no where else to go.
I went to the front desk to ask them to fix the water in our room because it was keeping us awake and we needed sleep for my brother's wedding in the morning. All they said was there was nothing they could do.
I told them we paid sixty dollars a night and it wasn't worth it because the place was junk. I left and the front desk clerk called our room and screamed at mother to either shut up or leave.
The next day we booked another motel. My mom went to get all of our money back for the second night we'd paid for. She told the lady that she was not happy with the way we'd been treated and the lady threw the money at her and said "fine just leave!"
I went over to the office and she was coming out. She said can I help you with something I said "yes, I want to talk to you about yelling at us because we complained about the water and the quality of business she was running. I told her that she had poor customer service and my husband (who was not on the trip) had worked in the hotel business. He told me there was no excuse for the way you've treated my family. I'm going to call the better business bureau and the chamber of commerce on you because you can not treat your customers this way and expect to stay in business."
All she could say to me was shut up. I went up to my grandparents room to talk to them about staying at another motel. I heard the front desk lady literally screaming at my mother all the way from my grandparents room with the door closed.
I ran down out of the room and down the stairs. I found the lady inches from my mother's face screaming loudly. I told her" I had no problem suing her so she better back off and not touch my mom." She whirled around and started screaming at me " Fine call your lawyer then. Right now. Right now."
My grandpa was right behind me. He told her to quit screaming at my mom that way or he would call the police and have her in jail.
Her husband had come up by that point and we explained to him all that had happened. All he could say was do you think it's fun running this place?" He went in our room as we were about to leave and it only took him one minute to fix the tub.
I don't know the names of these two individuals but I know they were the husband and wife managers who lived on site.
This business should be shut down. They take advantage of the fact the miners and other guests have nowhere else in town to go. The way they run their business is unethical and should not be allowed. This place should be investigated so they won't be allowed to walk all over their customers ever again.
