Did not deliver student travel services as advertised ripoff

Here's the short version of their ripoff services. 19 travelers signed up for an all-inclusive vacation in Nassau. What we got sucked!

Flights: The flight to Nassau was from St. Louis to Tampa, plane change, to Nassau. The return flight was from Nassau to Tampa, plane change, to Dallas/Ft. Worth, plane change, to St. Louis. When this trip was marketed to us last September, these flights were supposed to be direct from St. Louis to Nassau.

The flight down wasn't too bad, but the return flight, with 2 plane changes, was grueling. From departure to landing, the return trip was 11 hours. Adding shuttles and everything else, to arriving at home, the trip took 16 hours. This is pretty ridiculous for what was supposed to be a direct, charter flight.

Hotel: We were supposed to be at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, all inclusive, and we wound up at the Nassau Beach Hotel, nothing included. All Star Travel Crew informed us of the hotel change less than one week before departure. Travelers were reimbursed $300 which was the published rate difference between the hotels. No compensation for wrecking our plans!

The Nassau Beach Hotel was a great hotel, probably around the 1970's. While we were there, there was a news announcement that the Nassau Beach Hotel, along with the Wyndham and Radisson were sold to a developer. It was unclear in the news announcement if the Nassau Beach Hotel was to be torn down or completely renovated.

Our recommendation would be to tear it down. This hotel is nothing short of sub-standard. Even the kids complained (something that you said they would not do). We had 5 rooms there. One had no air conditioning. One had no working phone. One had no refrigerator. My room (in the supposedly renovated section' of the hotel had mold in the bathroom, a sliding door to the deck that hotel engineering had to come and force open, a clock radio that did not work, a missing ice bucket that it took 3 days to get replaced, mattresses that were probably bought from Goodwill (do you get the picture). Daily towel service was also a joke; they were always out of something. There was a shortage of lawn chairs on the beach. Drinks at the bar were $7.00 for a frozen daiquiri and the food was very expensive.

The $300 difference from the all-inclusive hotel was in no way adequate to cover the increased expenses for meals and drinks at this low-rent hotel.

Our high school also had students at the Holiday Inn Sunspree (reservations handled by a travel agent) so some of our group visited there. They commented on how much nicer it was than the Nassau Beach Hotel. Then you add in the all-inclusive food and drinks, and there is no comparison.

In total, 19 travelers felt that what they bought (Sunspree, all inclusive) and what they got (Nassau Beach Hotel) was like the difference between night and day.

All Star Travel Crew stood in front of all of us and sold us on their capability, and an all-inclusive Spring Break vacation. The real plans were hidden from us until 5 days before we left. And nothing was as advertised.

All Star Travel Crew is a Ripoff. Avoid them at all costs.
