Ramada Plaza Resort
Ripoff, scam, although a REFUND IS POSSIBLE

I was called by a representative from Ramada Plaza Resorts. I was told that he had just talked to my girlfriend about a special vacation package. She said that she currently did not have funds for it though. He asked her if anyone else would be interested, because it would be a shame for such a great package to go to waste. She thought this was a legit deal, so she gave him my #. That is how RPR got ahold of me.

The package inluded a five night stay in Orlanda or Fort Lauderdale, a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas, and a "bonus" vacation either to Las Vegas or Puerto Vallarta. Plus, I would get an Alamo rental car for 7 days. I was told that it would ONLY cost $496.

Normally I am very skeptical about "deals", so I was asking a bunch of questions. Everything SOUNDED legit. I remember asking if I was able to cancel the package. The representative said that if I don't use it after 1.5 yrs that I could pay another fee to have it extended longer. They never said "yes" or "no" if it was refundable.By the time they went on about the package being extended, I forgot about the intent of my question.

After I agreed to pay for the pacakge, I went online to check out the hotels and the cruise. My girlfriend and I were exciting because we haven't been on a vacation in a long time. Then, thats when I found usacomplaints.com and all of the horror stories.

I decided that I wanted to cancel my package after hearing all of the complaints. So, the next day I called the customer service # and asked about cancelling. They went on and on about other packages and stuff. That info basically went in one ear, and out the other. They then finally said they could not cancel my package and get a 100% refund. I was told I would only be able to get a 50% refund. I was not satisfied so I told them to not do anything w / my package and I ended the call.

The next day I looked at peoples posts on usacomplaints.com about sending faxes to RPR. I used a couple of different peoples faxes as a template and printed out a letter for a full refund. I saw that people used different numbers to fax the request to. I ended up sending it to three different #'s. I still don't know exactly which one is the "real" one though. I used: (954) 568-3847, (954) 331-4180, and (954) 5679399. I sent the fax to Dan Lambert and Gina Johns.

Two days later, I checked my credit card statement online... And I was refunded the $496. So, a refund is possible, it just takes a little effort. I hope you guys are able to get a refund, because you deserve your hard earned money, not RPR!!!
