Grey Bonnet Inn refused to return any of my $325 2 night deposit despite the fact that the 40 room Inn was FULL the nights I paid for.
A severe medical condition prevented me from going to Vermont and I phoned the Inn 3 days in advance to inform them. The manager told me they would immediately refund my deposit if the Inn was full.
The manager initially lied to me when I called from my California home two days beyond my reservation date. Only after I told him that an acquaintance of mine was at the Inn those nights did he finally admit the truth. Five more telephone requests over 3 months did not yield any refund.
Only by the good effort of American Express (even though the permitted complaint period had expired) did I get a partial refund nearly 6 months after paying the deposit.
My advice: AVOID the GREY BONNET INN in Vermont.
