First I want to say I understand Priceline theory. You say what you are willing to pay and what you are looking for and even if it is hundreds of miles away or in a different city they will charge you for it. But hotels are nationally rate... So I thought.
I went to book a hotel room. I selected three star hotels because that was the lowest I was willing to stay in. They have on their own website a three star hotel as Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Sheraton. A two star hotel would be Best Western, Ramada Inn or Comfort Inn.
So much to my surprise when they sent me a confirmation for the Holiday Inn. A dumpy two star hotel. I am sure you know the rest of the story. Priceline is correctI am wrong. They can make up hotel rating how they see fit and could care less what the hotels are nationally rated.
To put icing on the cake when they sent me their standard too bad we ripped you off e-mail they wrote:
Our customers are our number one priority. We appreciate that you took the time to send us your comments about the rating for the Hoilday Inn/Ramada hotel, as we are always looking for ways to improve our service.
So hey lets one more time tell me that you put me in the Holiday Inn/Ramada Inn that your website says is a two star and sell it to me as a three star.
