Ramada Plaza Resorts - Imperial Majesty Cruise Line
Ripoff

Ramada Plaza Resorts/Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines mailed us an offer for $1,600 voucher off a Florida vacation with another offer to spend a few days in Puerto Valliarta and Los Vegas. Of course the thing that catches my attention is Universal Studio's Logo, as well as Carnival's and Ramadas. To the untrained eye, these companies are real, yet the logos are not exact.

I received it months ago, it got buried in a pile of paperwork. Today I decided to see if it's still valid. Winter in Canada is long and a thought of a trip for our 2 boys ages 4 & 6 to Florida would be nice. I make a call. It's an 800 # so, it's free after all, what the Hell. Well this very skilled and friendly woman tells us that it's not too late, we can still "activate" the offer... (after she checks with someone, ya right). She has a whole song and dance and is very polished. She has my husband take an extension as it's 1 call per confirmation number. We are told of a grand vacation, for over 1/2 hour she gushes about this wonderful opportunity.

Of course there are costs, but it's minimal. Like taxes, on the car rental (from Alamo...) and tips, meals, and a few other incedentials that you would encounter on any trip. She tells us she has worked there for 8 years and can get us some extras, they owe her! She asks about our kids, and how wonderful a cruise to Bahamas would be for them. Of course the mental pictures are strong, this helps her. I am picturing the Love Boat, the kids having a wonderful time, going to Disney or Universal again. We want this... But I know about scams. So the second she mentioned a cost... Today... I knew. I tried to get off the phone politely. She has spend about 45mins on the phone with me at this point, no sense in being rude to another person. She has her "manager" or some man take the call. He calls me maim, but trys to remember my actual name.

He's reading a script I tell myself. That's it, a quick pass off to my husband to kill the call. Goodbye. No $698 from me (the initial deposit for 1 adult only). Then I think about the vacation, ask my kids if they'd love to go to Florida this winter. Who wouldn't??? I go online (WHICH I SHOULD HAVE DONE FIRST) and see what this Ramada Plaza Resorts/Imperial Majesty Cruise Line company is all about. I read about some poor couples trip from Hell. Oh my God... Thank you for this website. I am happy I didn't drag my children on a trip like that! Shame on them, they knew we had children and they would have not cared on bit if we brought them to the trip from Hell.
