So, I booked a room last night for tomorrow's trip to Portland, OR. Every decent/deal hotels in downtown were booked out on all other websites except otel.com. When I first found it, it couldn't be true! Not only was it available where we wanted it (checked it even on the actual hotel's website-sold out), it was $100 for the night! So of course, I jumped at the chance and reserved it! Next thing I knew, something didn't feel right and so I checked their reputation. I've never read so much NEGATIVE COMPLAINTS / REPORTS in my life! It was hard to find any good ones! This of course made me nervous! I was so worried our room was overbooked, I called the hotel to confirm my reservation and was told they are completely booked out for this whole weekend and surprised that I was even able to reserve it! Panicking frantically, called otel.com (read complaints that their company is based out of Turkey and their office hours are based on their time zone so they won't pick up on US time zones) expect not much luck to speak to a customer service representative, got a polite answer. She was very cordial and understanding, very patiently listened to my rant (after reading 3-4hours complaints online before calling I was pretty hyped, worried), and reassured she will get on top of it as we spoke. After we hung up, within 10-15minutes I got an email from her saying she has reconfirmed my reservation with the hotel and even gave me the name of the person at the reservation desk. To make sure, I recalled the hotel and wwwwhallla! I have a reservation! Now I feel terrible for reading all these negative comments! I will use otel.com again!
