I purchased a prepaid Broadband2go device and activated it on 1/4 and was charged $40 for one month. When I set up the account I chose a one time payment option. I wasn't planning on using the device that often and didn't want an automatic monthly charge. So basically, I wanted to tell them when it was ok to charge me $40. I only used it for two weeks out of the one month I paid.
Wouldn't you know, on 2/7 I look at my credit card statement and there's another $40 charge from VM on it for a second month's service. I called their atrocious customer service (where no one speaks English) 3 times. Each time I waited more than 5 minutes to talk to someone and when I did get a person they didn't understand me and vice versa.
I got the runaround basically so I filed a complaint w/BBB and a dispute w/my credit card company. BBB has had over 3000 complaints. So then I get an email from VM's Escalation Dept.in New Jersey stating they tried to contact me by phone several times, but since I wasn't reachable I needed to contact them immediately. Total lie, never rec'd one phone call.
I speak to this rude girl on the phone and she wants to know what happened. I explain everything and she tells me the account was suspended due to fraud because of my credit card dispute and eventually the account will be closed after 30 days.
Meanwhile, I get an email from BBB w/Virgin's response (rude comments and lies). So I challenged what was said and Virgin sent another ignorant reply.
The credit card company reversed the charge and I contacted the store where I bought the device. I told the manager what happened and she was nice enough to take it back and give me full credit towards Verizon's broadband card.
The bottom line is I'm finally done with Virgin Mobile and hope to God no one else will make the mistake of doing business with them and they will close shop soon. Choose verizon!
