I bought a pair of sandals months ago from Finsh line at Carousel Mall in Syracuse, NY. I paid with a credit card and they asked if I wanted a free trial to Sports Illustrated. I asked if I would get charged for it and they said no, so I said ok. I left, and knowing better I went back to the store and told the same associate that I just made the purchase with that I didn't want it. She said ok but I never watched her throw it out. I should requested the form back from her.
Months go by and then my credit card is magically charged two separate times, one for $49.95 and one for $24.95. The larger one was for sports illustrated and the smaller one was for sports illustrated kids. I did receive several sports illustrated magazines in the mail but never a sports illustrated for kids. I don't want the crap anyways and threw it out everytime. I never received a reminder that I would get billed in X months if I didn't cancel.
My AMEX card immediately reversed the $49.95 charge but they couldn't tell what the $24.95 was for so they told me to call the company to dispute it. A 2 minute phone call reversed the second charge as well. The customer service representative explained that Finish Line probably signed me up and never explained the details. He didn't give me any crap about it and reversed it immediately, what a relief.
For all the people complaining that Finish Line ripped you off, they were misleading but the pamphlet they give you explains you will be charged. My complaint is that I went back to the store and told the girl to throw it out because I didn't want it and she processed it anyway. Finish Line is obviously getting commission on every person they sign up and maybe it even trickles down to store employees, or else she would have done the right thing.
