A customer called and wanted to rent a boat. He was told there were three available. He called some friends, called back and solidified the reservation. Within 10 minutes he called back and said he woke up his son and he was sick. I said it was no problem and think of us in the future. The King family rep at the time said I should have charged him the full rental as he canceled and it was policy. I said if I was in fact the manager I should be able to make that decision and I did because he was a potential future customer. He again told me it was a company policy. I told him where he could put the policy. He said he was going to call and tell his Dad. I told him to call Daddy and I quit that day.
