Gary Store aka Gary Pools sold us a Speck Pump for $745 for our inground pool. Only problem is... It is not designed for permanently installed pools. They know this but still tell customers it is used for inground pools. Even worse the owner, Leif Zars, admits in writing that they use this very same pump in the installation of their inground pools for all of their customers. Many people have paid thousands if not hundreds of thousands for pools that are installed with pumps that are not designed for permanently installed inground pools and that could burn their houses down.
Our pump ran hot, so hot you could not even touch it and was hot even after being off and the breaker off as well for four hours. We did not know any of this was going on. We only knew it kept tripping the breaker. Then we found in the Owner's Manual that it was not to be used in permanently installed inground pools. The Inspector of our little town said this could have burned our house down. I am interested in getting in touch with all Gary Pools customers to investigate if they have these same pumps so that they will not have their houses burned down.
