I bought a 686 Smarty Jacket last year, as well as a pair of 686 snowboard pants. They weren't exactly cheap, but I was ok with spending some money to get good clothes.
In less than a month though, ALL the riveted clasps broke (both on the jacket and the pants). The fleece lining of the jacket started to peel significantly (this is all within the first month, and I'm generally careful with my stuff).
Then the cord in the hood broke, making it basically useless, after the third month. Literally, these clothes have fallen apart, in a way that really is beyond anything I could have imagined!
I contacted their support - got NOTHING for a response. It might not be entirely surprising, since the quality issues likely go beyond just one poorly made jacket... Considering that the pants are exhibiting very similar failures.
I strongly recommend against buying any 686 snowboarding gear. You'd be throwing your money away, and supporting a company who has absolutely does not stand behind their product.
