On Aug. 11 I rented a mountain bike from Moab Cyclery. I drove about 20 mi. To the Klondike Trail Head. I then rode about 4 mi. Up the mountain and the rear tire started to lock up. I then discovered that the swing arm bolt was about to fall out and the nut was missing. The nut was nowhere to be found. This rendered the bike unrideable.
Upon returning to Moab, I explained the situation to the clerk and then to the mechanics. No apology or refund was offered. When I asked for compensation, I was told no because bolts falling off a bike is "normal wear an tear"! I have filed a complaint with the BBB, but no offer of a refund yet.
AVOID this shop. There are plenty of choices in Moab.
