Ripoff harrassed no security still wants payment cut lock stolen wallet

I have had 24 hour fitness as my primary center for over a year. Until now I was happy.

The problem was I needed to up grade my membership because the center did not have what I needed.

Sport is not far from the other center I was a member of, so i up graded to use this center.

I took my wife on my first visit, brought a master lock for the locker. I arrived with my wife at 10:30 pm and no one was at the front counter to check us in. We waited, and then finally just entered the center.

I went to the locker room. Changed, and used a heavy duty master lock to lockout my locker. I then joined my wife, and were there for about 20 minutes. I took a shower and returned to my locker to notice my lock was missing. I opened my locker and everything was gone.

I assumed there might have been a mistake made.
I went to the front counter and asked if they cut my locks. The attendant said no, then I stated, I needed her to contact the police because i was just ripped off.

She proceeded to have me fill out a form, but waited about 15 minutes to contact the police.

The people who stole my belongings started charging to my credit card within 15 minutes after stealing it. I knew the longer I waited, the more damage could be done to my bank accounts, and cell phone. But the attendant on duty acted as thought this was just a personal problem.

I took the report. And my wife called my cell phone form the centers business phones, in case they placed my belongings in another locker. At that point while I was back in the locker room listening for the phone ringing someone answered it. Which startled my wife.

We found out that a woman had my stolen cell phone, at a foodmaxx store 5 blocks from my home.

But when we got home, I called from our home phone, and another woman answered and said that a lady put the phone down, and walked away.

While all this sounds personal, I will get to the basis of the complaint.

I lost 500.00 and froze all my bank accounts when i got home, now I have to wait until I get my license back, so i can reactivate my accounts one at a time.

Meanwhile I am being harassed 3 to 6 times a day from the 24 hour fitness center over a 27.00 bill that just came due, it is not even 10 days late yet. And I'm getting harassing calls. And they keep referring me to other phone numbers, and supposedly they can help me.

It is now Friday, i have been unable to do anything. And people are wanting payments made, and I'm loosing 1 to 500.00 per day.

And these knuckleheads keep sweating me over 27.00

Should I start sweating them over all the fees I need to pay and my lost money, and my time, I have to spend to try and recover the thousands I'm out?

One would think that if I filed a claim and FROZE my MEMBERSHIP!!! That they would KNOW something was wrong.

Do I need to sue them over gross negligence? At this point, I don't think I have much choice. They continue to contact me at work, home, and contacting my friends and family all over a 27.00 bile. That so far is only 7 days late. And is their fault in the first place. They re aware of the theft problem, but haven to taken action to prevent further loss.
