We lost our business and then our home and contracted Pack Rats in Dec. to pick up and store our entire household until we moved to Richmond, Va.in Jan. 2012.
We moved, rented a home large enough to accomodate our household because we could not afford to pay for storage. We contacted Pack Rats in mid Jan. 2012 to make delivery arrangements for the pods.
That's when they told us that they only "thought" they delivered to Richmond, but they really don't. Their closest was Norfolk, Va. We were given outrageous quotes to deliver, $11,000, $6500. We were absolutely stunned. We could not get our possessions.
We are senior citizens, I had quadruple bypass surgery, lost my family business during that time, then lost our home. We had no money to store our possessions for a lenghty time.
So we had to start paying storage every month for 6 pods and paying rent on a big house with nothing to put in it.
