Hello-
I have just received a letter from the Silkies Pantyhose companies collection agency indicating I owe them money for pantyhose I did not order. I did not order this merchandise. I have researched the integrity of this organization online only to find that they are extremely unethical and abuse the consumer with their bogus billing and credit agency reporting. There are numerous web sites indicating their scams all over the United States. I do not owe them any money, and they are threatening to report me to the credit bureau for lack of payment.
I received one order and went ahead and paid for it even though I had not ordered it. I will never do that again.in the future, I will return the pantyhose they send me by simply refusing delivery of their merchandise. I will also be reporting them to the Minnesota Better Business Bureau as their practices are illegal and they know it! They make money on taking advantage of people that are easily intimidated. I am not one of those consumers. I have urged them to permantely remove my name from their database. I refuse to pay for something I don't want or need. I sent Silkies and e-mail from their web site indicating my intentions on dealing with them, and I will be sending a letter to their organization reiterating the content of that e-mail. I also found it infuriating that there is not one area on their web site to cancel your membership. A membership that I never signed up to be a part of. It's rediculous! I will also send a copy of my letter and their bogus collections letter to the Minnesota Better Business Bureau. At this point I am not sure of the best approach to dealing with this kind of a scam, but I fully intend to educate myself. It's organizations like this that give the mail order businesses a bad name!!!
