ENTERPRISE Rent-a-Car
Time to contact the FBI

I did not realize this before but after checking the time stamp on my credit card. It had been charged $500 prior to the actual return of the vehicle to Enterprise by 15 minutes. I called Geico from Enterprise rent-a-car and a claim had already been filed prior to any examination of the car.

Enterprise filed an Insurance claim before I had actually returned the car. I have my phone log with my call to Geico from Enterprise. My guess is that a claim was filed while I was pulling up to return the car. I spoke with another renter who had pretty much the same experience out of the same garage... They confirmed that a claim was filed with no examination of the car they returned. I had not thought about the time of the claim until speaking with another who had experienced the same.

I have contacted The Federal Bureau of Investigation. I put together a package of several renters that have had the same thing happen to them.

You need to know the following most cars have at least 15,000 miles on them. Enterprise never fixes the car, none have ever had any repairs and if you research the parts they claim they would need to fix the cars and check dates you will find they were never ordered.

Soon after the cars hit this mileage about 15,000 and are a year old, they are quickly auctioned so they can not be traced. These are the cars most targeted for repairs.

Over 1200 renters have been scammed or were involved in attempted scams in 2012 alone and their stories are all online. I would have to believe by my contact with others that this is a SCAM. I have no way of proving others cases but this is a very large number.

Many return their cars and are sent bills 30 -45 days after the return even if they received completed paperwork. Although claims are filed across the USA the same shops are used to "examine" and photograph supposed damage. Biggest States involved currently are TX, CA and PA and the regional managers seemed to be contacted as they call the renters demanding them to file with their Insurance Companies.

I suspect these managers are profiting from the Scam. It is not my job to prove this but all I have contacted have been contacted by these Regional Managers. They may be getting a kickback from the appraisers. I will leave for the authorities to investigate.

Any Insurance Companies that ask to examine the cars are never permitted to do so. License plates never appear on the claim.in many cases pictures can be of different cars cars other than the ones rented. So a visual inspection is denied and the Insurance Company sees a different vehicle. A typical bait and switch. I have read about several of these.

Many times the claims are paid before the renter even finds out. He usually does not know until his deductible is charged and hits his credit card. This can either be immediate or after a claim has been paid.

The biggest claims always include roof replacement as customers can not see the roof of cars they rent. Almost no one replaces the roof on a vehicle! Roof claims are a red flag almost all claims involving roofs are suspect as it is nearly impossible to prove the condition of a roof.

Roofs are not clearly examined and can not be photographed by the renter so they are targeted for the Fraud.in all hail cases that I have looked into the roof is always the meat of the claim. There are always extraneous charges loss of value to car, time not rented, etc. Processing fees These are added to the claim to puff up the charges.

I have spoken to a few who were represented by Geico... in several cases Geico starts out by refusing to pay the claim, then negotiates eventually paying part of the claim as it is more costly to fight the claim for the client legally than to pay part of the claim.

I turned this over to the FBI as I want Geico to do the right thing and continue to deny the claim. Being bullied by any Corporation that commits Insurance Fraud is no excuse for any Insurance Company to pay a claim just because it is more cost effective for them. I believe by doing this Geico is just as guilty of Fraud so I needed to contact the FBI and ask for their involvement.

I strongly suggest anyone who has experienced FRAUDULENT CLAIMS by ENTERPRISE RENT-a-CAR file a complaint with the FBI I have started the ball rolling and as I take INSURANCE FRAUD seriously I have already contacted several others who are documenting and reporting what has happened to them.

If you rent from ENTERPRISE make sure you take accurate pictures before and after pics of your rental. DEMAND that the roof is inspected and that this is in writing before and after your rental. Add an addendum to your contract|

Any claim must be verified and examined by my insurance company or independent appraiser appointed by me or the claim will be considered a fraudulent claim and i the renter can not be held responsible for any damage.

If ENTERPRISE Refuses to the addendum refuse to rent the car. There can be no excuse for FRAUD and if they refuse this clause they are surely ready to commit FRAUD and this is proof that they intend to FRAUD.

It is time to push these CORPORATIONS back. We are abused Consumers, our Insurance rates rise because of CORPORATE FRAUD. Do not kid yourself the more that come forth the better chance the GOVERNMENT will take action.

I do not believe in class action lawsuits, it is much more important to create problems and roadblocks to stop these Corporations like ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR from FRAUD. They will deny it, they will scream foul they will tell you we do not agree and then they will stab the consumer in the back for profit.

We need protection REPORT REPORT REPORT and they will then have their hands full and be forced to answer to those who represent us. This is the best and only way to stop CORPORATE CRIME.
