I purchased a voucher for moving services from www.livingsocial.com for 4 hours of moving services from $199 from Atlanta Pro Move at http://www.atlantapromove.com/. I was moving a 1 bedroom, 1 level apartment to another 1 bedroom 1 level apartment.
I completed this same move last year from a 2 level townhouse to the 1 level apartment I left with the same amount of boxes/furniture using a 2 man crew. That move included a 2 hour drive and took 5 hours (2 hours for the drive, 3 for the moving).
My sister moved from a 1 bedroom first level apartment to a 1 bedroom second level apartment last year with a 2 man crew and it took 3 hours. This move should have never taken more than 4 hours and it took 6.
The guys walked extremely slow even when they weren't carrying items and took 2.5 hours to load up the first aparment. Then when we arrived at the second place 1.5 miles down the street they didn't even bring the first item up for 20 minutes.
Then, they threw the boxes around like nothing was considered fragile and I've found more damage to furniture than in any previous move.in addition, I walked out once and one was talking on his cell phone. I had to go buy plyers so they could take my bed apart because they came unprepared.
Then, they charged me $250 for the additional two hours and demanded it on the spot in cash without prior mention of the "in cash" rule. I had initialed a line about paying extra if necessary when they reviewed with me but they never mentioned cash.
Honestly, this whole move process felt very corrupt and I'm very concerned for future customers.
