Company cashed a 2 month premium but did not apply it to the correct account, numerous attempts to correct have failed

A check for 2 months of medical insurance premiums ($478.) was made to BCBS/GA but was mailed to the wrong department. BCBS cashed the check but did not credit my account.

After being notified from BCBS that the account was not up to date and the medical insurance would be canceled, I did an electronic transfer from the bank ($478.) to replace the check that went to the wrong dept. The check was cashed by BCBS, a copy (front and back) was faxed.

BCBS/GA position is that the check was applied to June and July, however the e-transaction was also applied to June and July. I contend that they are confusing the the e-transaction w/the check. They have asked me to re-send a copy of the canceled check.

This whole process is very upsetting, frustrating, etc. The departments do not talk to each other, they have received numerous copies of the canceled check from my bank, the pharmacy department within BCBS, and me, yet they want another copy? Every time I call it is a new agent and the explanation must begin from the beginning. Each conversation lasts a very long time and the agent often does not understand the situation.

When I get an agent who seems to understand and is willing to help - I can't get them back on the line for a follow-up. The agents do not let me talk to billing or supervisors. Faxes are not delivered for up to 24-48 hours after sending. Requests for confirmations of receiving a fax have been ignored. They will not give me an email address to send correspondence instead of the fax. It is by far the worst customer service ever!

To top it off, in the midst of all this they switched billing companies and I have just received my 3rd bill (yes 3rd bill) for October.

My bank has talked w/BCBS GA as well and they have decided to help me file a forge complaint against them in order to get them to review my account thoroughly.
