This company called when I they saw my car listing on cars.com. They assured me they currently had 8 people in my area that were looking specifically for the type of car I was selling and promised if I did not sell the car in 90 days, they would return my money less a $29 fee. I NEVER received one single call from their service for the entire 90 day period!
To receive your refund, you have to fill out forms, have them notarized, and mail them back. No faxes, no emails... Everything to make it as hard as possible. I sent mine certified mail because I was growing weary of the process. A couple of weeks and no refund. I called the company and they told me it was taking 4 to 6 weeks now to process a refund. After 6 weeks and no refund, I called the company again. This time I talked with a lady who said it was now taking 8 to 10 weeks to process refunds. When I asked to speak with a manager, she said I could talk to no one except her and that was the answer she was to give.
I finally filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau. Four days after BBB notified the company of my complaint, they responded that the refund had been processed a week earlier. This was a complete LIE! I received an email from Auto Marketing Systems the same day BBB received theirs and they had just processed my refund that day (a week later than they said), and it was 2 days after that, that my refund showed up on my account.
If I had not sent a formal complaint to BBB, I have no doubt I still would not have my refund.
