MAGAZINECO They lied to you even for $4.95

Be very careful with this company. They would lie to you even for $4.95!!!

I called to redeem a vouchor purchased from http://www.saveology.com / then this guy tried to talk me into paying $4.95 to get $100 credit on a website selling dining gift cards. He said I can use that credit to purchase gift cards for many restaurants even chain restaurants like subway. I am very cautious person so that I kept asking questions like "whether I need to pay some money out of my own pocket in order to buy gift cards", "do I need to order minimum in order to buy/use gift cards... Etc".

He said no and sounded to me like I only paid $4.95 to get $100 dollars value of gift cards... Only after I gave him my credit card number and at the end of the conversation, he told me that I would receive an email from a "magazine" company, which would offer me this magazine subscription... Only $39.99 in three payments..."Wait" I interupted him, telling him that "I don't want to subscribe to magazines!" He told me that I don't need to subscribe to magazine. "It's "just an offer'".

However, after hanging up the phone, I received a confirmation email from MAGAZINECO company saying that I subscribe to 4 magazines (listing 4 magazines titles that that guy never mentioned over the phone), and that $100 dining credit is only an bonus reward "due to my subscription to the magazines". That email doesn't even tell me how much I am going to pay for those 4 magazines.

I quickly called back to SAVEOLOGY, asking to cancel that order and a refund $4.95, but was told I have to call that MAGAZINECO (looks like I already subscribed to the magazines so that I have to deal with that company now even though the purhcase that guy talked about is dining gift cards, not magazines). I called MAGAZINECO using the "customer service" phone number SAVEOLOGY offered me (saying that customer service can help me with refund). That lady's attitude was terrible. She said she cannot help me but have to get another person to handle this.

She asked me for name and phone number and asked me to "wait for the call" as she said, someone would call me "within 24 hours". I was busy and cannot kept waiting.

I just called my credit card company. I will talk to SAVEOLOGY and MAGAZINECO the next 2 days, and if they still give me hard time to get refund, I will ask my credit card company to not to pay.

I just don't understand. If they want to sell me magazines, why didn't they just tell me clearly? They should at least give me a chance to pick the magazines I would like to read, right? They listed BETTER HOMES & GARDENS, GLAMOUR, SHAPE MAGAZINE, as my subscription, which are the magazines I like the least.
