I purchased a show quality rottweiler from this breeder named Tony Keiser of VKW Rottweilers. I researched him online and didn't find anything bad so I trusted him. I picked the puppy up Friday at the airport and he seemed fine but on Tuesday he started vomiting and having very loose stools. He wouldn't eat or drink.
I took him to the vet immediately and he tested positive for parvo, and now my poor little guy is fighting for his life and we are heartbroken seeing him suffering. I immediately called the breeder to not only let him know about my puppy but so he could take precautions for the other puppies he has... I was told by my vet that parvo has a gestation period that is more than 4 days so he definitely contracted it before he was shipped. The breeder told me that if the puppy dies, sorry, but he's clear on his end, and basically didn't want to talk about it. He now refuses to answer my calls.
The only paperwork I got with the puppy was 1 computer printed piece of paper with some dates and names of vaccines, no stickers from the viles, no serial numbers... Which my vet wants. There was a vet's name on the paper but no address and no phone number. I looked the vet up, called him several times and there was no answer. I left messages and he will not return my calls. I emailed him, he will not respond. If he did vaccinate the puppy it could have been a bad batch of medicine and he may have used it on others so I would think as a vet he would care enough to do something about this, like give me the serial numbers and warn the company and others he vaccinated. I am not even sure if the puppy recieved these vaccines.
I do not want to send the puppy back and all I wanted was information and for him to reimburse me for the vet bills if the poor little guy makes it, but what I got is a rude, uncaring, and very cold response from a breeder that calls himself ethical and says he offers a lifetime of support.
