I went through a company called Cellular Choices to try and get service through a reputable company. Cellular Choices told me that the service I wanted would not accept me without a substantial deposit so they set me up with Liberty Wireless and emailed me to tell me that Liberty Wireless would be taking $59.99 from my account.
On Sept. 7 2004 Liberty Wireless took $121.94 stating that what they really meant was that it was a $50 mail in rebate that made it so large regardless of what the email said. Then they shipped me a phone. The phone was unable to put calls through. So I called and we re-programmed it several times over several days. Customer service reps stated that the system was being upgraded and that it would be better the next day and the next etc. It still would not work. THey shipped another phone. Customer service said they would be nice enough to waive the $60 replacement phone fee. BUT several calls later they could not say when it was shipped.
On September 24 the phone arrived. I tried to activate it on September 25th after charging the battery but the customer service person said that "Sprint is down today upgrading the system." and to call back the next day. So I did. THe new phone did the same thing the first phone did. The customer service person offered 10 free minutes for my frustration. I said no just cancel the service I have had it and want my money back.
SHe put me on hold several times saying she was transferring me to the accounts people only to come back and offer me more time and another phone etc. Finally upon getting to the accounts person he said they would refund my money 7-10 days after I returned both phones. I said "no, you are not trustworthy as a company. Return my money and I will return your phones." He would not and would not transfer me to his boss. I called again today 9/27/04 and the woman i spoke with said the same thing and would not help me in any way. She said that the policy was what it was and that even her boss would not do anything about it and that I would not be getting my money back until I returned the phones. And that is where I am today.
