My Tenant contacted me and stated that her laundry room sink was stopped up. This has happened before and a little snaking has always solved the problem for a year or two before needing to be redone.in the past plumbers have charged me between $99 and $150 dollars to do the job. I couldn't remember who I had used last time so I looked up plumbers online and found a local (Long Beach, CA) company named Cole Plumbing.
The lady that answered the phone took my information and said that they would send somebody out to evaluate the problem for $49 and if they did the work this fee would be subtracted from the service fees.
The plumber came out and looked at the sink and drain lines and said that he would need to snake the drain from two separate locations and the charge would be $289. I told him that I had never paid that much to have that job done in the past and that I wasn't interested in paying that much now and that the last time I had had it done it had only cost me $99. He said ok and went out to his truck.
Still needing to unstop my Tenants drain I called another plumbing company that said they would do the job for $99 and that they don't charge a non-refundable deposit. A few minutes later the ripoff plumber calls me and says that he has talked to his boss and can now do the job for wait for it...$99.
Keep your hard earned money in your wallet. Don't call these guys.
