People Public Records is a Scam - Credit Card Refunds Available

I purchased a subscription to this records service in December for $37.28. My receipt clearly stated that this included LIFETIME access to their date base. I was given an active password.

In February I logged on to do a search and my password had been disconnected. This prompted several emails to PPR and Clickbank to trace the problem. PPR ran me in circles to stall me, asking for receipts, etc., and it soon became clear this was a scam. They wait 60 days - which is the legal period to file a credit card inquiry - and then terminate your subscription. First they claimed they had gone out of business but the website is still actively taking members. CLICKBANK claimed that PPR was no longer handling their transactions and would not help me.

The good news is, I contacted my credit card company, Citibank, and they refunded my money! I sent in all the correspondence even though it was past their claim window and they credited my account the full amount.

So, they do honor special circumstances past the 60-day claim period. This is great news for consumers who are duped by these scam artists.
