I cannot believe how BAD DEVORA screwed up my hair!
A few years ago I used to visit her salon at the old location with great success. One of her other stylists always did a great job.in all fairness I must confess this was my first and LAST time using Devora at the new location.
My hair isn't difficult and nor were my requests. Just a basic cut and some color to lighten. Same cut and color I have been getting for years. I was living in LA and work transfered me back to San Diego so I was in need of a new salon. Take my advice - avoid Devora and her drunk attitude at all costs.
When I arrived I was right on time and had a slight wait. I noticed that Devora was drinking wine while she worked. No big deal since it was mid-afternoon or so I thought. I have no idea how long she had been drinking but now I suspect it was more than just a glass or two. She finished her friend up with a simple cut and blow dry and my wait was only 10 - 15 minutes beyond our scheduled appointment time.
I noticed Devora's eyes were moderately blood shot when she called me to her station. Again I figured it was just due to a long day or chemical fume exposure. Boy was I wrong!
Devora proceeded to dump her entire failing social life on me from boy trouble to business problems. I really had no interest but I guess I am just a softy when it comes to someone in pain so I remained a good listener and even asked a few questions. Devora refilled her wine cup / glass a time or two and I did notice her slight slurring and a little wobbly. At one point she was near tears when she was describing her boy trouble. Who among us has not had similar problems?
Almost two hours and $400 later we were done. Devora was trashed. I had no idea what she had done to me until I got home and my sister came by and asked "What happened to your hair?" Only then did I look much closer to realize Devora had FRIED my hair and did a poor job of cutting. Totally uneven! Super-Cuts could have done a better job!
Not wanting to leap to immediate panic I decided to wait two days before washing it out and maybe it would be all better. HA! My hair only got worse! I looked like a bleach blonde with a bad haircut. So dry it was breaking off. I take really good care of my hair and she had completely screwed it up.
The story gets worse. I waited until Tuesday to call Devora with my complaint. First she claimed it wasn't her, must have been someone else. After I assured her it was her, she offered to LET me come in for a re-do!!! How do you re-do a FRY JOB! I was considering asking for my money back but I just hung up. This all happened a few months ago and I have since gotten the problems fixed - over a $1000 later and much tisk, tisk, tisk from my new stylist in Carlsbad. It was only recently that I learned of this site and with the urging from my sister, fiance and best friend decided to post the truth about Devora's antics. Beware of Devora and her drunken escapades! I would never recommend anyone to Devora's salon.in fact I have steered two friends who used to use Devora up to my fantastic find of a salon in Carlsbad.
