As a NABCEP student and a well trained installer I took a job at unleash solar in June I quit in 2 days after seeing several safety violations concerning the use of fall protection systems. Both lead installers on both jobs were filled with tattoos and a very unexcused lack of proper installing hardware. Job 1 was installed with an array that did not allow for the fire access path around the area as taught by NABCEP. And the array looked more like a skate park then a solar array. This pathetic finished array could have been corrected by the simple use of a laser line or string line leveling, But the 2 lead installers with 11 years of experience choose to make it wavy and unlevel as a drunk hippo crossing a tightrope. The lead installer had never attented any formal solar training class and was all of 20.
Job 2 was even worse, 3 different installers from Unleash came to a job with a concrete tiled roof, but not a single one brought any ladder at all, we had to ask the customer to borrow one, he looked as us in clear dissapointment but still was kind enough to lend us a 6 foot painting ladder from his garage.
