Ours, unfortunately is the same story as everyone else's on this website. It is so sad that there are so many of us!
We hired East Coast Moving Systems to move our son from Michigan to Naples, Florida. They, obviously seemed legit. They were supposedly back by the BBB which seemed good enough for us. Roni was very nice to begin with. She promised to be available to answer any questions that we might have and to make our move "as smooth as possible".
Our pick up date was scheduled for July 24th. When the movers finished packing everything onto their "rental" truck, they then informed us that the total cost would be more than twice as much as our original estimate. We asked them to take everything off of the truck and that we would find another means to move our stuff. We were told that it was impossible to do that and then they offered to reduce the total cost if we would agree to give them a "very big tip". We watched as the truck drove away, unaware that that would be the last time we would see them.
Our delivery date was scheduled for July 31st. At this point the phones aren't being answered by anyone. When they were answering their phones we were always given promises that they would be calling us back, along with numerous other lies. We never received calls back. When we were able to get through and we would identify ourselves, we were immediately hung up on.
Everything that my son owned was on that truck. He has been living in an empty house for almost 4 weeks now, without furniture, clothes, or any of his possessions.
Today is August 23rd. There was a segment on Good Morning America this morning about another family that were victims to these people. I'm sure that there are many, many of us! I only hope that the FBI is able to find these people and that they get what is coming to them! How do these people sleep at night??
