I signed an agreement with Vacation Tree to list my Hawaii time share for sell.in the initial calls they told me my ts was worth over 15K. They said Hawaii is very proplar with Asian market and have corporate businesses lookign to buy in Hawaii. The sales person said this would be sold in less then 90 days! She guaranteed it. Well guess what... It didn't sell. After 10 months I sent a letter requesting a market price offer. When I didn't hear back after a few weeks I called.
I was told this could take up to 10 weeks for their appraiser to get the numbers. After 12 weeks I called back and was told to wait another 12 weeks. Being persistent I called as a new client and got a return call from a sales person within an hour. I had a co-worker tell them she wanted to list her time share to see what they would tell her. We recorded the whole call! The sales person told her the timeshare was worth about 12-15K.
Like with me, said she guaranteed ti would sell within 90 days. My co-worker asked what if it didn't. The sales person explained that after 10 months they would buy it back for the fair market value. When asked how logn that would take the sales person said it takes about 7-10 days to get an offer. She kept saying but don't worry, we don't want to buy it... We know it will sale. I have buyers really interested in Hawaii. That was when I frist spoke up and said that was all BS.
The sales person puts us on hold then a supervisor, Jason, came on the line. Within 20 min I had a phone call from Rocio at the corporate office. I just got my offer and it was for $ 38.62 based on Ebay auctions on 4/30. These auctions aren't even my resort. Also, in the offer it says I must pay my maintenance fees for the full 2012 year. The contract says they must be current. I am looking for similar stories and people willing to be part of a class action to shut these people down! Contact.
