I have a Mobile DJ Company in San Diego and was contacted by AT&T advertising solutions and given the opportunity to sign up for their on-line pay-per-call advertising.in their sales pitch I was promised that I would get only strong customer leads at a cost of $20 per call. I was told that if I got a bogus call I could immediately call AT&T and have the call removed from my bill. I was also told MANY TIMES that this is a NO RISK offer, and that I could cancel at any time, and that the customer calls would be routed to another similar company. It sounded good so I agreed.
Then came the VOICE verification - which is the electronic remote version of signing a contract... And they left these details out of that part... If this happens to you, be sure and STATE CLEARLY the conditions of the contract as they were explained to you... They will likely try to cut you off! Anyway... Got the service and started to get DAILY emails of the "calls I received" and am being charged for. I never got any calls! When I did get calls, they were asking about a completely different company and service than what I offer, or soliciters trying to sell me something!!!
I called AT&T and never got any calls removed! Bills over $200/month for calls I never recieved... Many of which are at 2-4am when I am not even open for business! I got NO HELP after many phone calls to AT&T, and I finally cancelled/changed my credit card! I even went as far as to cancel my phone [number] so that no future calls can be answered or received by me.
And I STILL get emails daily telling me the calls that were answered by me and watch the bill keep growing. I told them on many occasions that I am NOT GOING TO PAY ONE SINGLE DIME, yet they refuse to change anything! They threatened to come after me with a collection agency, I said "Bring it on"... AT&T pay-per-call is a total SCAM; they promise the world with no-risk, they snag you in and you can't get out! Avoid at all costs!
