I was hired to write some articles for Mr. Yannis, and did so in a timely manner. During our initial conversation, he mentioned that he could pay me every few articles, but wanting a lump sum payment I said no. Since he had hired me on a reputable work from home website, I assumed there would be no issues, plus I knew which company he was getting this work done for and his own website.
After a week, I submitted the work. He mentioned that he wasn't happy, and that he needed some things removed. I told him that even though these were not things he had mentioned before in our initial conversation, I would re-write all the articles for him. I submitted them again.
This time he didn't respond for a while. I kept emailing and he never replied. Finally he replied saying they were still not ok. He needed them in some format (which is what I had delivered them in) and that he would just ask someone else to work on them.
I immediately replied saying that like last time, I would re-write them, if he could only send me a sample of what he was looking for, as clearly he was not able to explain his requirements properly. He said ok. I never got the sample. I kept emailing and asking for it, to no avail. Finally he ended the contract without paying me.
I replied asking him why he had done that, especially after I had gone through the trouble of re-writing them for him once, and had been willing to do it again. He said he had sent me the sample and he had had enough (I did not get any such email, despite repeatedly asking him to send this "sample" to me).
Since he runs a website design company, I am reporting him so that other writers will not have the same experience. Stay away! Or actually, make sure you get upfront payments! He probably took my articles and had them re-written at 1/3rd the cost by some other writer.
