Billed Me Twice As Much For Corrections Made To 2 Articles And Kept The Money Covering 4 More Articles That Were Never Written Internet

Kellie Fowler, who has a writing business through Elance known as Write Solutions and an online freelance writing business website, has refused to give me a refund on four articles that she never even made the attempt to write.

I hired Ms Fowler, through her website, to write eight articles. I had never dealt with her before and the requirement on her site is that customers pay in advance for the series of articles. But since she had been recomended to me, I mistakenly trusted her good faith. I paid her $300 to write eight articles at $37.50 each article.

The first two articles she wrote were incorrect:

1- One article was supposed to be posted on a site which sells reading eyeglasses, and naturally, the site is meant mainly for middle age people in need of bifocals. But Ms. Fowler wrote the article in the form of a tenneger's story. There would be nothing wrong with that, except for the important fact that teenagers don't develop presbyopia and thus teenagers do not wear bifocals. Besides you could see this was hardly a teenagers site!

I was very dissapointed and frustrated due not only to the facts stated above, but also because of what I had been through before the articles were completed (see the paragraphs after 2 below).

2- The second article had the look of an add, and started with a headline: "Attention, Women runners...". When I hired Ms Fowler she said she was going to "custom write" the articles to fit each website. She supposedly saw the sites and I did tell her the webmaster did not want an article which resembled an ad, but that the article had to be informational to fit the informational site.

I sent an email to the writer and related this fact to her and asked for a refund. Since things were not working out. She said she did not know that presbyopia was a condition that "strikes only elderly people". She said that she'd be happy to give me credit, but that she really was interested in working with me to "get everything right".

After I send the article to this webmaster, she (the webmaster) said she could not post this article on her site as it looked like a "big ad". The other webmaster did not even reply to me after sending her the article.

I again called her by phone and left her a message to ask for a refund. She insisted on editing the two articles. She did edit them, but she never got them right. When I again asked her for a refund of $225 for the six articles she had not yet written, she said she would only give me $150 our of the $300 I paid her since she had taken her time to edit the articles.

I told her this was not acceptable, since I had asked for a partial refund of $225 out of the $300 from the very beggining and had not asked her to do all those edits, she had insisted on doing those edits.

I could easily have asked for a full refund of $300 because the great inconvenience she caused me, but I'm only asking for $225 for the articles she did not write and therefore she did not earn. To this day, she is keeping $300 and is refusing to give me the $225.

Based on my own experience, her proffesionalism and customer service leave a lot to be desired. I had to send her 2 emails and folllow up with a phone call, so she could respond. She said the first two articles would be ready on a certain day, but I received them seven days later and never contacted me to let me know of the delay, until I contacted her.

Therefore, she caused me great inconvenience, not to mention loss of business since I could never placed the two articles she wrote because the articles were not appropriate for my prospective partners websites: One of the prospective partners refused to place the article in her website because it was not appropriate for her site.

The other prospect did not even reply after I sent her the articles. So I'm stuck with 2 articles that can't be used, and even worse, I'm out of $300.
