Several expensive items were stolen from my 'Public Storage' Self storage unit in Northridge, Ca. It was an inside job from the employees because the lock was still in place. I bought the lock from Public Storage (they make you because it's the only lock that fits the door) but they apparently have a master key. They not only stole my xbox and several boxes of expensive items, they put the lock back so I couldn't tell until I emptied the entire space out that I had been robbed.
I emptied it out and they knew because they called me a couple weeks later telling me they had to 'cut' the lock because I was one month behind in payment (even though the policy is to cut the lock after three months, not one month - they are supposed to give you time to pay your back balance) and saw my space was empty so they told me they noticed that and said i better pay up. It's obvious they don't even follow their own policies. Helena is the manager and she said "I'm telling you, you better pay!" or what? You'll steal more of my stuff?!
Oh and the customer service is horrible! Please stay away from Public Storage. They steal your stuff.
