Overweight scam, late delivery, very poor customer service

I was quoted $900 for 1500lbs and paid a $270 deposit. After they loaded my stuff onto the truck, the driver told me I had 2400lbs of stuff, thereby increasing my total of $900 to now $1600. Furthermore, I was told to pay $830 right then.

In the previous weeks before pick up even happened, I had spoken to several representatives stating that I would be paying with a personal check and each time, the rep assured me that was okay. Fast forward to when my stuff was picked up, the driver tells me paying by personal check would delay delivery of my stuff and that I needed to pay cash. Because I do not carry around massive amounts of cash, I had to leave my apartment alone with 2 strangers and run to the nearest ATM because I am starting a new job and needed by stuff by a certain date. Before I left to go to the ATM, the driver had the audacity to ask me to get money to tip both him and his partner. Furthermore, my bank is not local, and I had to pay $15 in ATM fees because I could not complete this is one transaction. On top of that, my bank ended up shutting down my card in case of fraud and calling me an hour later to check with this. I was only able to withdraw $730. The movers also left trash and the toilet seat up. Minor details, but after the whole debacle with the ATM, completely unprofessional.

I immediately e-mailed the company and a rep called me back and said that a manager would contact me the following morning to offer resolution/compensation and she also asked how much in ATM fees I paid. That was on 3/14. I did not receive one call or e-mail from the manager. I even let it slide until 3/19 and I called the company again. They again reassured me that the manager would contact me and that my stuff would be delivered by 3/22. AGAIN, I did not receive one call or e-mail from the manager. I even spoke to 2 different reps who reassured me that they were leaving messages for the manager.

Today, 3/22, when my stuff was guaranteed to be delivered, I get a call from the driver saying my stuff won't be here until Sat or Sun. AGAIN, I immediately call the company and am told that the customer rep who I talked to before is on the phone and he'll call me back. Of course, he does not. I e-mail the company AGAIN stating my frustrations over this completely ridiculous situation.

On 3/18, I filed a complaint with the BBB. Move It Forward has yet to respond.

FINALLY, this afternoon, the manager called me and stated that nobody had told me I had called. Whether or not this is true is anybody's guess. He re-assured me that he would call me this Sunday, 3/25 to discuss reimbursement for this mess, but judging by the past disgraceful customer service I have received, I am not holding my breath.

Absolutely do not use this company. They give you the run around on everything and it will make your move unbelievably stressful and frustrating.
