Decline process mishandled and clerks not properly trained

Recently I presented a check to my local Walmart that I have shopped for many years. I have presented checks for many years, recently I was declined and I was given a declined check slip but no phone number or pertinent information on who to call. I called Certegy Check services which I know my Walmart uses and they are also the service that appears on my return check. I was told upon an hour on the phone to contact TeleCheck, I called TeleCheck and after 35 minutes on the phone they had an outstanding check on my account information. I told the agent 1611 that the check she had stated cleared my account weeks ago and they hadn't updated their files on me. First I am not sure why after all these years I had to call another check service over the one they use? I also wasn't aware that I should call in to be informed of any negative information. Clearly their system doesn't update fast enough. The management at Walmart isn't trained to follow federal credit guidlines on truned down checks or the slip I was given should have the information to contact the parties declining me. It was embarassing and humilating and not to mention they could have called in a approval if they were to have handled this correctly. Check services are no better than a predatory collection agency. Check your file every few months if you still write checks!
