I made a payment on my Children's Place card, paying it off. The store put the payment into the computer. When my statement came a few weeks later, no payment appeared, and a finance charge and a late fee of $25. I called the customer service number and the store. I got the transaction number of my payment, and found that my check had already cleared the bank. The store and customer service told me that eventhough I had their own transaction number and they could just pull it up, I had to go to the bank and get a copy of the check and fax it to them before they would even consider crediting my account.
They also said they would put no note on my account that this was in dispute, and that if they reported it to credit agencies, they would eventually fix it, but it would probably take up to 6 months. So I had to take time off of work, pay $5 for a copy of my cancelled check, pay $3 to fax it. I wrote a letter to the store to complain, and have since sent 3 e-mails and have gotten absolutely NO response from the company whatsoever. Don't ever shop here or get their credit card. They have NO customer service, and don't care about their customers at all. Once you have bought, they couldn't care less what happens to you, or what they do to you.
