After a dispute with our cell phone company, Virgin Mobile, my mother started receiving unsolicited emails from persons who appeared to be responding to an online dating service. It seems that someone posted her hushmail account online.
There are very few people who are aware of her email address. She uses it for bill paying notifications only.
The Virgin Mobile reps. Are probably guilty of this crime as she started getting the emails only a few hours after the dispute with these reps. (I have closed my account with Virgin Mobile and my mom will be closing hers within hours of filing this report.)
My mom is also filing reports with the proper government agencies and is in the process of obtaining a forensic attorney who has knowledge of this kind of internet crime.
Why am I reporting 'hushmail' on rip off report? Because they have systematically ignored my mom's pleas for help regarding this problem. She will not close this account until a lawyer or law enforcement looks at it.
