Bait and Switch, Quote a rate and say they cannot do it after you order their phone!

I called verizon on feb 9 to see about continuing with a new contract and phone and was quoted $94. Per month for:- my unlimited data (which I currently have)-my texting to stay the same - unlimited voice as I currently have, and a reconditioned droid x2 for $39. (I get a $30. Credit for being a long term customer). This phone call to set this up was over an hour and Verizon knows these facts to be true.

After having to continue on the call to go through the conditions, the nice lady I was dealing with said she would have to transfer me to Verizon Customer Loyalty Department as they would add the last $9.99 reduction to my monthly bill to equal the $94. Per month total. Once I was transferred, the lady in Customer Loyalty said there was an error with my order, and they could not give me the $94. Per month rate because I am an employee of a facility that gets a discount on my rates; therefore, my rate would have to be $119. Per month, or I could cancel the order. I told her to cancel the order.

She confirmed that she did this (keep in mind, I was still on the same original phone call now over 75 minutes). She apologized and said I was back to where I was prior to calling. I then sent an email to the original lady who had quoted me the $94. Telling what had happened and asking her to make sure the order was canceled. She responded via email and apologized and confirmed the order was canceled.

Three hours later I received an email indicating my new phone was being shipped to me. I immediately contacted the lady who had sent me the email indicating that the order had been canceled. She said, once I send the phone back to them (which I am sure will take time as I cannot sit around the house waiting on this lest I lose my business) they could adjust the account back to where it was. This is unfair. I should not be penalized and have to be on a high rate plan and responsible for a phone I did not order due to their incompetence.

I filed with the BBB and Verizon had some guy named Kenneth Shider or Shiner call me after 2 weeks had passed to tell me they had received their phone back and so my contract was once again released... That was it... They will not honor the deal they quoted after wasting an hour on the phone that day, and two weeks waiting for the response while I was responsible for the phone and the more expensive program.

They lied to me to sell a phone, they would not honor their quote. Do not do business with Verizon as you cannot believe what they tell you.
