Double charged my debit card double rip off

I am reporting Morse Fruit and Meat Market for theft of monies not owed to them. I went there on 12/21/01 and the amount of my purchases totaled $12.73.

I paid the amount through my debit card. I swiped once, and the machine stated that the transaction had failed, so I swiped my card again and it went through.

When I checked my balance at home the automated message stated that there was amount debited that totaled twice the amount that was supposed to be debited.

I retrieved a snapshot of my account and it reflected the transaction stated above. I, then, went to the store and let them know what had occured, and they stated that it was a bank error, and that they were not going to give me this money back.

The amount that had been taken from my account damaged the appearance of my account because it left my account with a negative balance and there was a nsf fee tacked to my account leaving even more of a negative balance.

There was also a promised payment to another company that was affected because they returned the check that I intended to pay a bill with because of insufficient funds reflected from the debit gone wrong (Which they will not give me the money back on).

So, there was alot of damage done from that one transaction.
