I am a senior and disabled veteran and feel we were lied to and defrauded by this company. They overcharged us for our transportation charges by underestimating our shipment weight by 3 tons, even though the sales rep promised us their On-Point Certainty price quote he gave us would protect us from any under estimation error he might make on the shipment weight (turned out to be 3 tons). We also ended up paying more for storage charges due to this ridiculous error in underestimation. We would never have used this company if we had any idea they would not honor their original price quote. We ended up paying over $3600 for these increased charges and they would not release our goods until we paid them.
Equally disturbing was the fact we had high value antiques stored in our garage, family heirlooms in our family for decades. These were shown to the sales rep on two separate occasions because we were concerned they needed to be handled with extreme care. They were lightly covered against dust. The rep told us on both occasions it was company policy to unwrap, inspect and re wrap/protect these items prior to loading. We agreed this was very important to us. The loaders working in the garage, unknown to us since we were in the home packing boxes, failed to follow company policy and loaded these pieces without unwraping, inspecting and re wraping.
Many of these pieces arrived damaged or ruined. The mover has refused to honor any claim on these, saying they were "packed by owner" and that we told them to leave these items unprotected. This in an outright lie. We suffered an estimated $32000 damage to these pieces. We were sold the "Full Value Protection" coverage by the rep. He and his drivers told us our goods would be protected fully if damaged. They have refused to repair or replace any of these items and being retired, we cannot afford to pay for their repair or replacement, and they are one of a kind and irreplaceable.
We have been the victims of lies and untruths by this company on all fronts, from the sales rep, pick up and delivery drivers and the claims rep. As a senior and disabled vet, perhaps they felt we were "easy pickings" but we have never been treated like this by any other business.
We would not recommend this company to anyone. As a veteran who moved many times and never had my good damaged before, we are heartbroken we cannot enjoy our heirlooms in our retired years and have to endure the lies of this company in their failure to honor our valid claim.
