First a credit card processing company comes in with all kinds of promises about how much money you will save. They rush you through and have you sign a bunch of places and then all of a sudden you are having them and Northern Leasing dipping into your checking account at will. The machine they hooked up kept having comm errors. I would call App Star because they were the company that brought the machine to us (apparently for Northern Leasing). They said that our phone lines were analog and needed to be digital and it was tearing up their machine.
App Star stated they would charge us for a new machine every time our phone line tore up their machine. They told me the charge would be $50. They sent me a new machine and it kept doing the same thing. App Star proceeded to take $436 out of our checking account for the new machine. Our customers charge wouldn't go through while they were standing there. We would have our customer write us a check or pay cash and then a couple of days later they would come back in and say the money came out of their account.
We couldn't keep operating this way. I returned the second machine to Northern Leasing instead of App Star because that is who the new credit card processing company told us to send it back to. Now Northern Leasing is calling us twice a week, making threats. I don't understand how when the machine wouldn't work with our phone lines, we can still be responsible. They state it is a non-cancellable contract. What a rip-off. How can you still be responsible for a machine that wouldn't work with your telephone line.
