Stitch In Peace
Barb Glassburn failed to pay for merchandise sent to he

We closed our yarn shop and shipped the remaining inventory to Barb Glassburn of Stitch in Piece in August. This was a large quantity of yarn plus patterns, books, shop models, needles, etc. The merchandise filled 57 boxes and had a shipping weight of 1600 pounds.

After repeated prompting, we receive a check in May. Barb stated that it was "the first of many, one every month for at least the next 6 to 7 months". This did not happen.in August of on year after shipping the yarn, we received a second check, but did not reflect the sales for the entire year.

We did not hear from her again, and email nor phone messages were responded to until March 11. She apologized for the delay and said she'd send out a full accounting and payment on Monday.

That was not received. Emails were ignored.in May we warned her that we would post the situation on rip-off sites such as this.

Today we called her and found that her phone number has been disconnected.

We are making one last attempt to communicate with her and receive payment, before contacting the Indiana attorney general's office to discuss the situation and proceed with legal action.

My feeling is not that Barb is an intentional rip-off, just that she is having a difficult personal and business life. However, that is no excuse for not holding to her business agreements and extreme failure to communicate with her client.

An attempt to recap the even from emails follows:

Hi Steven,

Just wanted to let you know the shipment arrived safely this morning. Now you are officially in the line-up and I would estimate it will be about 6 to 7 weeks before we start having things live on Ebay, however, I will do the best I can to get things rolling as quickly as possible.

Thanks,

Barb

Hi Barb,

Just checking in to see how sales are going. WOW what hype about the deals and closure! As I said in my phone message the product looks really good. Drop us an email with an update. Approximately how much have you managed to liquidate so far?

Thanks,

Molly

Hi Steven and Molly,

I am sending out the first sales statement and check in the morning. This will be the first of many, one every month for at least the next 6 to 7 months. We are still working our way through all the yarn but I can see light at the end of the tunnel, now the patterns and books are just being sorted as I write this. They are a little trickier, but we will sure do our best. I am confident you'll be happy with the sales results.

Thanks so much for all your patience, I've tried to spread the sales out as to not saturate the market and this first check that's on the way was when we just got started on things.

Thanks! Barb

Hi Steven and Molly!

Thank you so very much for your patience! I am sending another check out today for over a thousand dollars along with a sales statement.

I lost my long time office assistant in the early summer (her husband got a job out of state), she had been with me four years and I admit I am a bit overwhelmed with the paperwork on my own. I am still in the process of finding the right replacement for her, but I would rather deal with being behind than to hire the wrong person, so in the meantime I am answering all emails and taking care of all the paperwork by myself for the time being. I am not doing a very good job at this but I am getting it done, however behind.

Anyway, we did not drop off the face of the earth... And are still at it. And I thank you profusely for your patience!

Putting your next finished statement in the mail this afternoon.

Thanks! Barb

Hi Molly and Steven,

My sincere apologies for having taken so long to return your email. I went through a rather unexpected divorce last fall, and I am afraid it has just turned my life sideways.

I will get a payment out to you on Monday, as well as an accounting record for all of your sales and make arrangements for all future sales payments set up as well. I am still here, and certainly grateful for your patience, and again, I apologize, I usually do much better than this..

Thank you,

Barb

Barb,

It has been another long while and the check / inventory list you said you would send a month ago has not arrived. Whats up. When can we expect payment?

Barb,
Monday has come and is way gone and we have not heard from you or seen a check. Have you sold our product and not bothered to pay us? Please send a list of what is has been sold. Please pay us for the product. Please do not force us into posting unflattering reports about your business on consumer rip off sites such as this one: http://usacomplaints.com/e-trade/stitch-in-peace/stitch-in-peace-neverenoughyar-8ae79.htm. Are we getting cranky you bet. Please communicate with us!

Molly and Steven
