I have read many of these reports against Ramada Plaza Resorts. I was almost dupped into this cruise too. We also recieved the "free" voucher in the mail, it was around November. After calling we discovered that it was definately NOT free, but still sounded afordable at a price of $635.
It was only after recieving the "infamous" travel kit in the mail that I began reading the fine print on the back of the "coupons." This is how I discovered that this trip would end up costing my fiancee and I over $3,000.
I immediately trusted my gut instinct and followed the instructions to mail back the voucher packet and video along with the cancelation ticket located at the back of the booklet. I made a copy of my signed cancelation form for my records. (for those of you out there currently dealing with this you ONLY have 10 days from recieving the "kit" to send in the cancellation form!)
I did not hear from Ramada Plaza Resorts, so I called them myself after about two weeks. They tried to sweet talk me into extending the vaction package because it was "such a great deal." I was told that I would never find an offer like this again.
I stayed firm to my cancellation of the pakage and luckily recieved a refund. I have read that most people have NOT been able to be so luck with these terrorists of capitalism!
We recently entered for a chance to win a free cruise for two at our local Home and Garden Show, and it turned out to be another scam from Ramada Plaza Resorts. To win the "free" trip you must pay a winners tax, "33%, " it is the exact cost of the trip we were offered almost two years ago. This infuriated us!
Aaron Clemely, phone: 416-633-6201, was the manager in charge of the telemarketer, Matteo ext#335, who called us tonight. My fiancee asked for the offer in writing before giving a credit card # and they refused. They also could not provide any names or phone numbers of any executives from Ramada Plaza Resorts.
If anyone is interested in disussing a possibility of trying for a class action law suit against this company, Ramada Plaza Resorts, They either need to be put out of buisness or offer real products.
