We're Ready to Assemble Bad Place to Work

If you are considering working for this company don't. You will be expected to work off the clock hours and drive your personal vehicle to far away job sites with little compensation for mileage and no compensation for your time. Management is completely insensitive and dishonest. The company provides little if any training and does not provide specialized equipment needed to do the job. You will be expected to wire electrical fixtures in stores on high ladders and tight crawl spaces. The company will not provide you safety equipment or proper training or licenses. The company will require you to build bicycles on piece rate with little to no training. The posted ad in the job description you see is not accurate and they will force you into doing other less desirable work. Ask any field employee currently employed by this company and you will get similar feedback. Their confusing pay structure leads to regular mistakes in your pay that are extremely difficult to get corrected. Upper management cannot be contacted and the company regularly changes their phone numbers to prevent this. The company uses a scheduling service that is not overseen by your direct manager. This means your manager can avoid responsibility when your schedule makes no sense which is most of the time. The scheduling service has a passing interest in where they send you and are more concerned with getting off work at 5pm to avoid overtime than making your schedule. If you still are not convinced read further. Do not be fooled by large retail stores using their service, keep in mind the same stores use child labor in China and other economically impoverished nations. Target, Office Depot, Office Max, Lowe's, Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Family Dollar, and other retailers use their service. They use impact resource group and similar companies because they can do work that is cheaper than their own employees. These same stores will abuse you as a vendor, never living up to their end of the contract. You will end up doing their work and your own but you will only be compensated for your work. The management at these companies complains constantly about your work no matter how good of a job. You will be paid piece-rate, hourly, and by project. The company constantly changes the piece rate pay, almost always lowering the rate. Hourly work is the best way to get paid at impact, if you must work for them only do hourly work and refuse all other work. Do not fear being fired as they rarely fire anyone especially bad employees, they know you will eventually quit so why bother. If you are paid by project you will be given a time estimate for the project to be completed. This will always be a lowball number that they used to outbid their competitors. If you finish in under time they will reduce what the project pays. If you go over on time the company will not pay you for your additional time. A lot of project pay is overnight work and is the least desirable type of work at Impact. Lastly, the company will make you sign a non-compete contract to prevent you from leaving them and working for their competition. On a positive note most of their competition behaves just as bad or worse than they do. This is a very undesirable type of work to do. Avoid it and keep coming back to read my post until you get this. If you are a current field employee please feel free to add on, if you are management feel free to give rebuttal but I will not respond to you the same way you do not respond to your employees. Talk is cheap, fix your problems and I'll post your progress.
