Sprint continued to bill me after canceling contract

I had a 2yr contract with Sprint PCS. After my 2yr contract was up I decided to cancel my contract. I called Sprint and canceled in Jan 02, but received a bill in April for 3 mos. I called Sprint to find out why I received a bill and was told that I never canceled my contract. My question then was if I didn't cancel my contrat in Jan. Why wasn't I billed monthly like I had been, why am I receiving a bill 3 months later. The sales rep was very nasty and did not offer to look into the matter. I called on several accounts to find out why I was stilled billed but was unsuccessful in getting any help. So I'm now stuck with paying a $300 amount to Sprint to get this off my credit report.
