On July 19th, we met with Mr. Dan Cauffiel (3010 Union Street, San Diego, Ca. 92103)
& signed a lease agreement for a 2br/1.5ba condo at 1177 Evergreen, in the Point Loma area of San Diego. While we met with Mr. Cauffiel, we had mentioned that we might not be staying very long, as we're looking for a house. Mr. Cauffiel said he understood, and mentioned that he
dabbles in real estate on the side. After signing the lease agreement, we all went to the nearest Union Bank (Rosecrans St.), and he cashed the check. He seemed as if he was in a big hurry to get out of there. Later that day, a realtor called us and said that he had a house for us. We immediately informed Mr. Cauffiel, who then told my wife that we could meet with him the following Monday (7/25) & he would give us back our $2700 (first month & deposit). It's been 3 weeks, and he still hasn't given our money back yet. He continually ignores our phone calls and text messages, and when he does call us, he lies. All we want is our $2700 back—in cash. If this is the way he treats people, then he's definitely a bad person to deal with.
His business, if I'm not mistaken, is known as "West Coast Management." Beware of Dan Caulffiel and this company.
