After many years of driving with little mind to log books and doing the job the right way, i had decided to stop the stupid stuff. I have been following the correct way of driving a big rig for more then several years now.
I was until 08-05 a lease-purchase owner operator with Barr-Nunn, until i said that I would not pull a load that was over legal axle weight limits.
The shipper (FEDEX) gave all kinds of grief because after they end up unloading some of the freight, I was still going to be over weight and said I WILL NOT TAKE IT LIKE THAT.
Well, after it was all said and done - I was accused of being nasty to the customer and making a big scene and such. More like because I refused to haul an illegal load an excuse was drummed up to terminate my lease instead of Barr-Nunn have the self-respect to stand firm and go up against FEDEX.
Seems that a good friend of mine that also drives was right... NONE OF THESE TRUCKING COMPANIES GIVE A D*MN ABOUT YOU (the driver) only about themselves and the money they can keep in there pockets..
Like I told them, I will not be bullied into pulling an illegal load—even if it means my job!!! Well, looks like I will have to find another job that does not care about the driver either.
