I purchased a ball gown for my daughter to wear to her Military Ball. It was beautiful (notice I said WAS) white with small splatters of silver covering the dress. Well, when she returned home from the ball only half of the glitter remained on the dress. She was extremely upset considering she loved the dress.
I went to the JC Penney here in Mobile, AL and told them I would like to return the dress due to the nature of the problem. I explained to the clerk that the dress wasn't any good anymore and couldn't be worn again. She told me under no circumstances were they allowed to take back special occasion dresses. I reminded her that the dress had only been worn once.
The woman went and got her manager whom told me the same thing except that my daughter had gotten the intended use out of the gown and that she wouldn't ever wear it again anyway. She also informed me that if they took back every gown that something happened to the first time it was worn they would have to take them all back.
Way to go JC Penney. You won't be getting any more of my money and yes, I will tell as many people as possible.
